01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Brick Township, Ikko Japanese Steakhouse offers an inviting gateway to authentic Japanese and sushi cuisine that beckons both locals and visitors alike. This charming restaurant masterfully balances the art of traditional flavors with engaging dining experiences, making it a standout destination for lovers of hibachi, sushi, and much more.

Step inside, and you’re immediately enveloped in a warm, relaxed atmosphere where the buzz of satisfied diners blends harmoniously with the sizzling sounds from the teppanyaki grill. Whether you're seated at the hibachi table or enjoying a quiet corner with a sushi platter, Ikko’s vibe strikes the perfect balance—it feels both special and comfortably casual, ideal for celebrations or casual cravings alike.

The culinary offerings at Ikko are a delightful journey through Japanese favorites, beginning with sumptuous appetizers like the Agetofu, crispy fried bean curd with a subtly sweet tempura sauce, and the BBQ Squid, broiled to tender perfection and glazed with a rich teriyaki sauce. For those who appreciate the savory depth of beef, the Beef Negimaki—thinly sliced broiled beef rolled with fresh scallions—provides an exquisite bite that’s both flavorful and satisfying.

For sushi enthusiasts, Ikko is nothing short of a sanctuary. The restaurant’s sushi is celebrated for its freshness and skillful presentation, with one standout being the much-raved-about Smoking Roll. Named by a dedicated customer as the “#1 sushi roll” they’ve ever tasted, it's a must-try that ignites the palate with a perfect balance of textures and flavors. Pair this with perfectly steamed, subtly seasoned Sushi Rice, and you have an authentic taste of Japan right in New Jersey.

At lunchtime, Ikko continues to impress with thoughtfully composed Bento Dinner Boxes. These meals deliver great value without sacrificing quality, featuring a harmonious set of soup, salad, a sushi roll, vegetables, a choice of meat, an appetizer, and a side of rice—a symphony of flavors and textures that ensures a satisfying midday feast.

The experience is elevated by attentive and friendly service. Whether it’s your water glass being refilled seemingly before you even reach for it or the accommodating staff arranging seating preferences for special occasions, Ikko’s team truly enhances the dining experience. Many guests recount memorable celebrations here, where hibachi chefs double as entertainers, creating an energizing and fun spectacle that complements the delicious food.

In sum, Ikko Japanese Steakhouse is more than just a place to eat; it’s a destination where fresh, delicious Japanese food meets heartfelt hospitality and a welcoming ambiance. Perfect for casual dinners, family celebrations, or sushi lovers in search of that perfect roll, Ikko delivers a rewarding and authentic taste experience that keeps guests coming back for more.

Went to Ikko and it was so good! The food came out super fresh. The service was fast and the staff was really friendly too. The place has a nice vibe, super relaxed but still feels special. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Brick when I’m craving Hibachi!

As an avid sushi fan. I have to write this review and say their special menu item “smoking roll” was hands down the #1 sushi roll I have had in my life. Please put this as a permanent menu item!

The place was packed! Pick-up orders waiting at the front, a wait to get in for dinner for both tables and Hibachi. I would call in advance for sure! It was totally worth going. the food was amazing. Recommended the bento dinner boxes! Great price you get soup, salad, sushi roll, veggies, a meat and an appetizer with a side of rice. The waiter was almost reading my mind, water was filled without it getting too low, he checked on us and helped answer questions about the different noodles and options when he saw we were struggling with what to pick! The atmosphere was great, art work is beautiful and the place was clean. Will Totally be coming back and ordering more often!!

We had a party here and everything was fantastic. The food was delicious and the show was super fun. The chef did a great job entertaining everyone as he cooked. I've eaten off the menu here also and that was great too but I definitely recommend hibachi if you have the time. it's a little more expensive but tons of fun and you get a lot of food.

Ali was our Hibachi chef. He was absolutely amazing! We went for my daughters birthday and he made her experience so much fun. He was funny, talented and most importantly made delicious food!!!! The manager that was there was also very sweet. He allowed us to wait for a new table so my daughter could have a front row seat. It was really sweet of him since the restaurant was crowded. I recommend the hibachi filet mignon. Also, the raw oysters were amazing

Always an enjoyable time. Chefs always interact with us , especially my 7 year old. Food is always good. They allow me to get double rice instead of vegetables.

I reserved and went for my Birthday and had a blast. There were 10 of us and Ikko did not disappoint. They definitely deserve the business and I will be returning...even if it's just me.

I have been here several times and I always have a positive experience every time we dine here. This time we tried the Hibachi and we were in for a treat. The cook was so animated and really had fun. I had Steak & Shrimp Hibachi. It was really good and the serving was enough for 2 meals. Service was great and everything we ordered were worth every $.
